Correspondence of Ella Katherine Fife Freudenberg, 1917-1919.

Include wartime correspondence of Miss Fife with her parents, Robert Herndon Fife and Sarah Ann Graves Strickler Fife, Charlottesville, Va., and her siblings, particularly Col. James Douglas Fife, M.D., A.E.F. Also include letters from a friend, Nellie Nash, United States Naval Forces, Leith, Scotland, and three picture postcards from Camp Lee, Va. Letters describe nursing activities at Camp Lee and St. Denis, France; a vacation at Cannes; and travel through Brittany. Of interest are descriptions of the armistice celebrations and comments on the doughboys and French people. Letters from home convey news of family and friends. Many of the letters mention the influenza epidemic.
